How To Visit Bavaria

Do you like to visit Bavaria? What is it?

"is a region located in the southeast of Germany and is the largest state of Germany by area" (Wikipedia)

I would like to visit this Land and this is one of my dreams. Why? Look at the pictures here:

But you don't need to go too far if you want it very much. It will be enough to visit Bastia Umbra where we were yesterday and partecipate on the presentation of the Bavarese beer. There were different and very pictorial groups of Bavarians and even a band of musucists. And everybody could buy real Bavarese beer and drink it (testimonial on the left of the second photo).

Now you know what have you do to visit Bavaria.

Spain And Oviedo

Yesterday I wrote about a town in Spain, Oviedo, where there is the Cloth that covered the face of Jesus of Nazareth (How Many Shrouds Of Jesus Of Nazareth Do You Know? ).

I wanted to know more about that town and here you can see the photos I found in internet. I did not think about visiting Spain before. But looking on these photos you have great wish to go there.

Interesting is that it was an important town and it has very antient history. It was founded in the VIII century and was even the capital of Principality of Asturias. Maybe it was the reason why the Cloth finished it's travel in this town. On the photo you can see the Cathedral.

Vilnius Centras

I lived many years in Lithuania and fortunatelly have friends there. They know that I love this country and send me photos or something interesting about it. My today part of nostalgy was this interesting slide-show Vilnius centras I can envy the program the authors use to create it. My slide-shows made with Picasa are ... not so good as this one.

I added here some photos of Vilnius made by other persons:

When I Visited Finnland...

I visited Finnland in 1991 and it was my first trip abroad. For this reason, there were many interesting things for me there. Practically everything was surprizing. I traveled much in SU and there are really so many places, completely different cultures to admire. Finland was very different. First of all, it was so as we, in SU, thought about European culture: very clean, "brushed" and full of all sorts of goods. Imagine, they washed the square for the railwaystation with shampoo! :-)))

I was shocked to see an incredible quantity of fat persons, too. White-rose as a color and 1,70m h x 1,70m l as medium measures. It was the first time in my life I've seen that phenomenon of the modern life. Today, you can see it in Italy too, but in '91 it was something completely new else.

What I learned when I was in Finnland was to appreciate the modern art. We visited so many of the modern art museums and there were many sculptures in the streets too. I was not interested in this art before, I thought, it is not art (=ethernal beauty) but the way to explain own emotions. In Finnland I understod that it can become interesting and even enrich the environment.

I liked museums in Finnland maybe more than other places. Because they have a great use to put not only the objects there. There were reconstructions of what you see here in every museum we visited. It is one of "eng" sides of the museums generally. When you visit Pompei for example, you see only the ruins. It is not interestingfor a person. And if you have seen Pompei you are not interested to go in Ercolano ect because there is nothing other as ruins. Museums in Finnland were completely different. You can see the objects this museum has but you can see what are these objects, why and where were they used. And it is interesting.

Pindaja Cave in Myanmar, Burma

Today is a great day for Buddhists and thinking about it I remembered about one interesting place named 1000 Buddha garden. I've seen different photos of this garden in one of the sites. So I decided to find where is that place situated.

Intersting is that I found many many different places to visit that are bound with similar numbers:1000, 10000 and other. There was not only that garden among them. But I found this other place where I really wanted to go one day.

This place is in Burma and I have to ask my friend Footiam from Travel Pangs if he was there and maybe he has posts about it. Normally I remember what I read but I don't remember if he has written about this Pindaja Cave.

What I thought watching the video I post here: it's a cave and for this reason a visitor could have very special feeling walking there among all that statues. I was different times in caves. Once those were catacombs of one very important monastery, Lavra of Kiev. Than I visited catacombs in Turin where Italians fighted against Franch soldiers. Maybe there was nothing special, but the feeling you are under the earth...

Hot Springs To Visit

Whatr you see here is nothing other as hot spring. The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park. I found this photo visiting Design Swan site today. I could never imagine that a hot spring can have so strange look. I even thought, it's a sort of common falses that you see so often in internet. The "nearest" cronologically was for me a photo of an enormous cat that his owner takes in hands, do you remember? We wrote all about that cat, I think. And it was a false.

Very interesting would be to visit Yellowstone National Park. Seems there are so many special places...
